COURSE DESCRIPTION

The SNC1W course offers students an exciting opportunity to explore biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth sciences through the lens of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). This de-streamed course fosters an inclusive environment where students can develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills. Aligned with the Ontario Curriculum, the course covers real-world applications of science, from understanding climate change impacts to exploring sustainable energy solutions. By learning coding and engineering design processes, students gain transferable skills essential for future academic and career success. Key topics include ecosystems and sustainability, the periodic table and chemical properties, electricity and sustainable energy, and the vast phenomena of the solar system.
